Pinarello have come up with a winner once again, but this time you dont have to stretch your wallet to Treviso and back to afford it. The FP Quattro has been made using the same mould as the New Paris and the Dogma. This means that it has all the great benefits of asymmetric design that has been use in the Dogma can now be found in the FP Quattro. This mean the frame shape and design is identical to the frames used by the British Cycling team and Team Sky. You can get all this speced with M.O.S.T wheels and a shimano Ultegra 6700 groupset for £2799.
So of course there has to be a compromise over the Dogma to be able to offer such design and performance at an incredible price, and there is. But not as much as you would think, instead of using the fantastic 60HM toray carbon fibre they use in Dogma Pinarello use same carbon fibre that was used in the FP Quattros` predecessor, the FP4. This is a 30HM carbon fibre.
So what does using the 30HM carbon and not the 60HM mean? Well in principal using a lower modulus carbon fibre means that it will be either heavier for the same stiffness or less stiff for the same weight. In truth the FP Quattro balances the two things. The Quattro is both heavier and less stiff than the Dogma, but still has the great handling and acceleration that is so loved by Dogma riders.
The Pinarello Quattro is now in stock with us and comes in 4 colours, British Cycling (as shown), CDE(red, black, white), Team Sky and the BOB(black on black).
As always with Pinarello the bikes size up big (when compared to a Specialized or the like) so expect to drop a couple of sizes on this one.
