The Man, The Legend ...... Danny MacAskill

This is a short blog on what just about everyone in the shop (both working and buying) seems to be talking about. Danny MacAskill is back and sponsored by Red Bull. With their help he has created this little gem. It doesn't matter what sort of riding you are into you just cant help but admire how easy and smooth he seems to make all these tricks look. Many other rides out there can perform similar tricks but no one can do it in such a fluid way. We at Stonehenge Cycles tip our hats to the man. I give you "way back home".

Pinarello FP Quattro - Its like a mini Dogma

The Pinarello FP Quattro an awesome bike with a racing geometry, short wheel base and low. Perfect for Crits and circuit racing as well as pounding out the miles all year round. We are so excited about this bike as it balances Pinarello traditional high performance with exquisite Italian design. This bike is a real stunner.
Pinarello have come up with a winner once again, but this time you dont have to stretch your wallet to Treviso and back to afford it. The FP Quattro has been made using the same mould as the New Paris and the Dogma. This means that it has all the great benefits of asymmetric design that has been use in the Dogma can now be found in the FP Quattro. This mean the frame shape and design is identical to the frames used by the British Cycling team and Team Sky. You can get all this speced with M.O.S.T wheels and a shimano Ultegra 6700 groupset for £2799.

So of course there has to be a compromise over the Dogma to be able to offer such design and performance at an incredible price, and there is. But not as much as you would think, instead of using the fantastic 60HM toray carbon fibre they use in Dogma Pinarello use same carbon fibre that was used in the FP Quattros` predecessor, the FP4. This is a 30HM carbon fibre.

So what does using the 30HM carbon and not the 60HM mean? Well in principal using a lower modulus carbon fibre means that it will be either heavier for the same stiffness or less stiff for the same weight. In truth the FP Quattro balances the two things. The Quattro is both heavier and less stiff than the Dogma, but still has the great handling and acceleration that is so loved by Dogma riders.

The Pinarello Quattro is now in stock with us and comes in 4 colours, British Cycling (as shown), CDE(red, black, white), Team Sky and the BOB(black on black).

As always with Pinarello the bikes size up big (when compared to a Specialized or the like) so expect to drop a couple of sizes on this one.

We can finance this bike over the usual 24months interest free with a 10% deposit.

If you would like to discuss this bike more please call 01722 327851 and speak to one of the guys or gals in our dedicated road and triathlon store. Or just email road@stonehengecycles.com

Winter Hack? Genesis Io id 2011

We have just taken delivery of the 2011 Genesis Io id and this bike is just awesome. Reynolds 520 steel frame proves once again that steel is real my friends, and with choice of either an Alfine 8spd or the new Alfine 11 speed rear hub you will have more than enough gears for those winter jaunts. The internal hub gears are sealed against the elements and really are very low maintenance for the winter riding. Most experienced mountain bikes will remember a time that they or a friend blew up a rear mech in sticky mud or extreme winter riding. This is eliminate with the ioid, and with the horizontal dropouts and inbuilt chain tensioners changing a tube a breeze. A constant chain tension for silent running over the rough ground and the ability to change gears without pedalling means this winter-ride favourite has advantages in any conditions, not just the mud-fests.
The Genesis Ioid is available in 16, 17.5, 19 and 20.5" frame and comes in the stunning Cherry Red only. This colour is for both the 11 and 8 speed versions of the bike. The brakes are shimano deore and the forks are the Rock Shox Recon Gold.

The simple looks of the steel frame and hub gears are sure to make this bike a classic for years to come.
We reckon that thanks to this bike you can be out riding when everyone else is tucked up at home.

The 8 speed is in stock now and available for £1319.00.

The 11 speed is due January and will retail at £1499.00.

Both bikes are available with 0% finance with a deposit as small as 10% of the bikes value. These bikes can be delivered for free anywhere in the UK mainland.

2011 Felt Bikes Zoom in at Stonehenge Cycles

We have just taken delivery of the first of our 2011 Felt Bikes. In the picture is the fantastic Felt AR3, this bike is a super aero road bike, phenomenally stiff as well as awesome at slicing through the wind. We are seeing this bike as a perfect road race bike after it was designed over many years with the Garmin race team. It has an Aero carbon race frame, carbon including the dropouts, with internal cable routing. The rest of the bike is equipped with Sram Red and S30 AL wheels leading this bike to weigh in at a tiny 15.98 pounds. This bike could also suit a triathlete looking for a bike to race and train on. In conclusion the Felt AR3 is Light, stiff and completely aero. What more could be asked for? Stunning Looks maybe? Well there another tick then.

In stock we have this bike plus 2 other from the Aero Road Range (AR), The Felt AR3 retails at £3700, but the Ultegra 6700 equipped Felt AR4 is priced at £3000 and the amazing 105 5700 equipped Felt AR5 is only £2200. All these bikes run the same frame.
